"Hungry Koi", Acrylic on Canvas, 16 x 20, 2012In 2007, I took a photo of some colorful, energetic and outgoing koi at the Gallo Winery koi pond. Inspired by the 2007 photo, in August 2012 I painted this original koi on canvas with acrylics. If you like this painting, you can bid on it in an art auction to benefit Manna Meal at their first annual Art in the Garden Benefit Auction. The fundraiser is Thursday, October 18, 2012 at The Clay Center in Charleston, WV from 6 - 9 PM. Proceeds will support Manna Meal soup kitchen, which has served over 1 million meals to date. Opening bid is $100. Contact Manna Meal 7:30 am - 2pm EST Monday-Friday at 304-345-7121. They only accept cash or checks, sorry. Admission to the benefit is free, though, and there will be over 70 works of art auctioned off, so it might be worth a short trip. |
